The meeting will exchange information on the situation of cross-border animal epidemics such as foot and mouth disease in the region, prevention and control experience, progress of project implementation and road map of animal disease prevention and control.
"East Asia Foot and Mouth Disease Prevention and Control" project started in 2011, the OIE Asia-Pacific Regional Office is responsible for the specific implementation, members include Mongolia, North Korea, South Korea, Japan, as well as China and Hong Kong and other countries and regions. China, as a key member of the project, has always attached great importance to joint efforts with regional members to prevent transboundary animal diseases and promptly informed the epidemic situation and prevention and control of animal diseases such as foot-and-mouth disease in accordance with the principle of "timely, open and transparent"; and Mongolia, Laos and other neighboring countries And improve animal epidemic prevention and control of bilateral cooperation mechanisms such as foot and mouth disease; actively carry out epidemiological investigation, laboratory testing, clinical diagnosis and other fields of technical exchanges for the relevant countries to train veterinary professional and technical personnel; and to provide prevention and control materials in several countries assistance.
Representatives from FAO, OIE and other international organizations, project members and about 30 representatives from domestic research institutes attended the meeting.
